The mechanical energy obtained by the pump from the original motive can only be converted into the energy of the liquid, while the other part is lost due to the consumption in the pump. All the losses in the pump can be divided into the following items:
1. The hydraulic loss is caused by the impact of the liquid in the pump, eddy current and surface friction. The impact and eddy current loss are caused by the change of flow direction.
